Is it legal to hire someone at a higher wage because of a relation to someone in the company?

I am a CNA and got hired @ 6.25 an hour for a floor attendant @ an assisted living home. A co-workers brother got hired @ 8.00 an hour as a floor attendant and he only has laundry experience. His brother got him hired @ a higher wage.

  1. Yes. Employers can hire at any wage as long as it's above minimum wage.
