  1. It's not "illegal", but it is "unsportsmanlike".  Tennis has grown to be very formal and sportsmanlike.  You won't get points taken away, but you sure will make enemies.

  2. it does depend on what the distraction is. as said, hopping about and moving your feet during a serve, are within the etiquette of tennis distraction-as long as one's sneakers aren't constantly squeaking so loudly. also, sending sneaky drop shots, slices or hitting a big shot then in turn taking alot of pace off are ways to put your opponent off in a nice way.

  3. yes, if you do it god will make your children ugly

  4. No, it is illegal to INTENTIONALLY distract your oponent. But, all you have to do is say it wasn't intentional.

Direct quote from Friend at Court:

"A player may feint with the body while the ball is in play. A player may change position at any time, including while the server is tossing the ball. ANY MOVEMENT OR SOUND THAT IS MADE SOLELY TO DISTRACT AN OPPONENT, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED, TO WAVING THE ARMS OR RACKET OR STAMPING THE FEET, IS NOT ALLOWED.

  5. yes.. its legal

  6. i depends on how you do it

if you are talking to him it is rude

but not illegal but if you are like

    jumping around making noises loudly

then yeah it is. Plus tennis is supposed

to be formal very calm respectful game

so i wouldnt even try anyway :)

  7. Well its not ``illegal`` but im pretty sure its against the rules lol You mean like Novak with his ball bouncing? He does that more whens he`s nervous or getting beat! Hey i cant say anything Rafa isnt exactly the fastest player either lol

  8. yes, it is. Your opponent cannot in anyway act outlandish or make noises. Tennis Capt 4year , Won 2 tourneys >.> unfortunately i cant remember exact name of the rule.

  9. Legal.

Grunting is considered legal. Maria, Serena and Venus hasn't been fined for grunting.

    So I think it's legal.
