  1. In UK, you can be charged whatever, PROVIDED they tell you 'in advance' .. i.e. the Seller must specify the charges before you 'sign' ...

    If they specify "Credit Cards 2%", then  you should NOT be charged for using a Debit Card = however it's not unusual to see "Cards 2%" (in which case they are perfectly entitled to charge for Debit Card use) ... some places (eg. my local cinema) impose fixed 'booking fees', irrespective of the method of payment ..


  2. Yes, it's perfectly legal as there are costs associated with processing a debit card payment - but it's very unusual and generally limited to credit cards...

  3. Yes. If the seller wants to, they can make a charge for having ginger hair. But then you always have the choice to buy from elsewhere.

  4. yes, it is legal provided they notify you of the charge. Ticket agencies love this one as they make a fortune from it.
