Ok let me explain they've been family friends for most of there lives and recently started dateing 1yr ago...

His aunt married her uncle(after dateing less then 6 months), after my friends started dateing...

  1. Since they aren't closely blood relatives, then, yes, they could get married. As to if they SHOULD, well that is a question only they can answer. But you sound young so I bet they are too so I doubt it will be an issue anyway as you never stay with the first person you date.

  2. they arent even related so they can get married if they want to.  Look at it this way. my dad has 4 brothers.  each of his brothers wives has nieces and nephews.  I dont even know them and have never met them as we are not related because I am only related to my aunt through my uncle.  if they ever divorced, I am no longer related to her anymore.  This is the same situation.  He is her nephew.  she is his niece.  they are on different sides of the family so technically, they arent even cousins.

  3. They're not blood relatives, so it's all good.

  4. There fine, they are not even considered cousins ,and if they are it would be 4th or 5th.

  5. its illegal

  6. its legal.. they are not related LOL...

so tell them to go ahead !! :D

  7. You cannot marry your first cousin but you can marry your second, third, fourth, and on and on.

As for your best friend and your other friend, they are not related by blood in anyway and are only very distantly related by marriage so if they so chose, they could get married.

  8. I don't think that there are any laws against cousins marrying, its not good because of genetic reasons with having children.  It's also not "socially correct".

But they are not even cousins...so if they married it would be fine.

  9. Depending on the state, blood relatives of varying degrees may marry.  In California, first cousins (i.e. children of your parents' siblings) may marry legally.  Your friends do not have even this level of consanguinity and should have no problems if they wish to marry.  They may wish to consult an attorney if they are still concerned about this.
