I don't think you should name your kid Satan because you are a child of God and he wants all of his children to be named from a cathloic name I really believe that if you wish to name your kid satan that's your choice.

It's probably legal,   but why in the world would any parent subject his child to such a life with a moniker like that?

Seriously,  think of the child and what impact it will have on his entire being.

If you can't name the child 4Real or @, then I don't think you can name your child Satan. But there was one man who successfully got his name legalized to "In God We Trust".

It is legal. Just ask Satan Xerxes Carnacki LaVey. Although, to be fair, his father was Anton Szandor LaVey, author of The Satanic Bible, and founder of the Church of Satan.

No it is not Illegal nor should it be. But you would have to understand that words carry power and names have very powerful meanings to them and that child would have to then live with the power of that Name it is why so many parents put a lot of thought into their child's name.

In germany it's illegal to name your kid hitler. that's all I know.

What's the good of doing this?  Why don't name a kid god instead?  As a parent, I think it's better to think something good for the kid rather than put him/her in a hard way sooner since birth. ... No kidding, it's a life long harassment.
