  1. Yes....

  2. children can not purchase firearms

  3. Like the supreme court, you are making an assumption, over the meaning of this amendment, that it is "the people" who are free to own guns, this is  a distortion of the grammar, the "subject" of the sentence in question, is not "the people", that is a subordinate clause, the subject is "the militia", and as such the rights in question are those of a free and armed militia,....so even if this was a right available to non adults, it would still not apply to children, because they have not attained the "age of majority", i.e. they remain minors...

It is a shame that the court recently ruled on this matter, without taking advice from a Grammarian,....to any who understand, the meaning of language,  it is clear and unequivocal.....the justices were wrong, to interpret it this way, it is grammatically incorrect !!!

  4. Unfortunately for you (maybe fortunately for us), the Supreme Court has found that children are not "people" referenced in the Constitution. You do not enjoy the same rights and freedoms of adults, including the right to purchase firearms.

The court has found that local and state governments have the right to impose reasonable restrictions on the right to purchase and/or possess firearms. The restriction against minors purchasing firearms would not doubt fall under the category of a "reasonable restriction."  Therefore, don't get your hopes up.

  5. its illegal for kids to purchase firearms. they hardly have the right frame of mind and usually like to point them at things they dont need to shoot. i wouldnt even pass down a firearm to a kid till they have learned to shoot, the safety rules and how to handle one and even then, they would have to wait till they are 18 minimum. i have taught my child how to shoot and she is only 8, but she NEVER handles a firearm unless i am there with her. kids dont need guns until they get a good taste of life and they know how to use one safely.

  6. You are not considered a legal "people" until you are 18 or 21 in some cases.

  7. As a minor, technically, you are not your own person, you belong to your parents or guardians... thus, your freedoms come to you only through your parents or guardians.  You are your parents'/guardians' responsibility. So, actually, the Constitution is for adults.  That's why laws have to be established to protect children from parents or guardians who fail to live up to their responsibilities towards children.

  8. The second amendment provides for people of sound minds and good reason to bear arms. Kids under 18 don't have a very good track record of making good decisions, and not many have very good reasons for having guns. Most don't have families/property to protect, etc.

  9. Federal Laws do not allow anyone under the age of 21 to purchase handguns.  People under the age of 18 cannot purchase shotguns or rifles.  States can increase the age limits as they determine they are needed, they cannot lower the age limit.  In my state no one under the age of 16 can purchase a pellet or BB gun of any type or purchase ammunition for them.  This includes paint ball guns and rubber BB guns.

  10. Yes it's legal,  not to allow children to purchase firearms.   The second amendment allows for people with sound minds to own/bear firearms, children's minds are not fully developed  enough to be sound/rational.

What possible reason would a child need to own a weapon, since they are not grown and do not have a house or a family of their own to protect.

Children's minds are not fully developed enough to understand the burden of owning a firearm, the responsibility of it.  Children do not always want to follow their parents rules, so that they must be told over and over not to do things.  How would they understand the enormous responsibility of owning a weapon, when to use or not use a firearm.

Children's minds are not fully developed enough for them to be responsible enough to buy/own a firearm.  It would make them both a danger to them selves as well as to others.

I very much doubt that they would ever be in a well regulated militia of any sort, since most parents wouldn't allow that to happen.  They wouldn't have the mind set for any thing such as that.

  11. Yes, the government can make it illegal for children to possess firearms.  For their protection and the community they reside in.  Can you image in 10-year kid walking into a gun store and purchasing a weapon?

Most states require you to be at least 18 years old and pass some sort of firearm safety test.

  12. Yes it is very legal for anyone under 18 to either posess or purchase firearms illegally. In some states it is a felony charge for selling to minors, and the corruption of said minors therein.

  13. yes its legal.  Children are not responsible enough for firearms.
