  1. I don't understand what is a "bb pistol", it seems to be a fake gun. But let me tell you something about guns in México.

Here in México is illegal to own any pistol, there is permission in the Mexican Constitution to own one in your home, but it must be registered and only is permited no more to .25 mm, any gun bigger is "Exclusive Army Uses" ("Uso Exclusivo del Ejército"). You can NOT carry a gun, never unless you have special permission from the mexican army (you must be either a militar, a police, a member of government like President, Governor, Congressman, Judge or Municipal President; or a very important man). There is also a permission to TRANSPORT guns, given by the army too, this is used by hunters to move their rifles, but they can not carry it with them, the rifle must be inside its container.

It is NOT difficult to get a registration for a gun (always equal or smaller to .25 mm) at the military zone, but you must be mexican citizen, own a home at the military zone, never been convicted ("sin antecedentes penales") and some other requirements. To buy a gun (a legal one) is easy, but not as it is in the USA.

If you carry or transport a gun or bullets ("parque" o "tiros", balas) without permission and you are found by a military checkpoint (there are many in México), they will take your gun and send you to jail, ALWAYS, no matter the caliber.

  2. It might be legal to buy it, but good luck getting it back.

  3. you plan to protect your home with a bb pistol ..........................right  hmm sounds like you're going to get shot by a home invader with a real gun my 6 year old has a bb gun this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard

  4. Pellet rifles are sold in Soriana and  a host of other places.

You could possible use it to intimidate an intruder as most carry other types of weapons

Stun guns and tasers also not illegal in Mexico.  (Banned in some states and illegal in Canada (to date)

I personally have not seen a pellet pistol.

Some of the rifles look very real.

I have never heard of thief with a knife or s***w driver attacking someone holding a rifle.  You have a better change of being hit by lightning than being invaded by someone with a gun.

I know a Mexican that shot and killed an intruder and spent 3years and three months in the federal pen awaiting his fate.

Its "Napoleonic Law" here in Mexico.  The burden of proof is on you.  You have to prove your innocence.  this guy was a guard of some sort and had a permit for his weapon.

His was found innocent and released when he got his day in court. He could not post bail and had no one that could.

  5. In Mexico it's illegal to even buy toy guns that remotely look real, I wouldn't be surprised if it were illegal to buy BB guns though the chances a cop would storm into your home without a warrant and send you to jail just because you have one would be slim.

Home intrusions with violence aren't a thing that happens everyday, even in a place as dangerous as Mexico City. Now, that robbers can quietly sneak in a house when nobody's there and loot, yeah that can happen. That has happened to two neighbors that live in my street as a matter of fact.
