  1. Depends on your local laws but where I live, yes, it is illegal and the motorcycle can be ticketed and/or towed.

  2. No you cannot park a motorcycle there. There is a clue in the word footpath. It's meant for pedestrians only. If a blind person using the footpath were to walk into your bike and they injured themselves you would be in big trouble. So do what I and any other motorcyclist does, use the road, that's what it's for.

  3. Illegal...footpaths are for pedestrians end of, you maybe lucky if its a quiet unused path but if someone complains the Police will act on it...

  4. Yes you can be fined. Footpaths are exactly that, not to park a vehicle on.

  5. Yes you can as you are still classed as a motor vehicle, and a footpath is for pedestrians.

  6. The only right the public have as regards the highway (this includes the carriageway, footway and verge) is to travel along it. There is no right to park anywhere so in theory the police can do you for obstruction at any time. In practice parking on the highway has become accepted unless a true obstruction is caused ie by parking you prevent someone from travelling along it. I would suspect parking a bike on a footway could be considered an obstruction. Also for those people that dont know yellow lines denoting a parking restriction do not just apply to the carriageway they also go back to the highway boundary so you cannot simply park behind them.

  7. Not legal in the UK, The offence is obstructing the footway, fixed penalty ticket of £30 or at a Magistrates Court a maximum fine of £1000.
