Is it legal to prank call 800 numbers?

My friend and i were prank calling some 800 numbers, but we werent being mean or malicious or calling them more than once. We gave this one phone operator a funny name that sounded fake and he said he was going to report us to the authorities. I mean, some people really do have funny names and he had no idea whether we were telling the truth or not.

Yes, all prank calls are crimes, but the likelihood of getting caught is minimal.  Should you get caught though, the penalty is severe.

Lol, this brings memories when my friends and i use to prank call at&t and asking them to buy bibles for orphan children's. the manager of their department evidently picked up the phone one time and yelled at us and reported our number to the police. but we did this on a local payphone.

never do it on your cellphone..lol

but i wouldn't worry about it unless you did it on your phone.

sexual harassment.

They know your number through caller I.D.

You're kids. You'll get yelled at.
