My house has been on the market for a while and a friend told me she heard of a woman who raffled off her house. I havent been able to find out anything about it on the internet. If anyone know of the requirments or the laws here in Texas or the circumstance that I am allowed to do PLEASE let me know.

Thank You

  1. That is just another "creative" way to sell a house. It was not a legal raffle, just creative wrangling....Just like the people who try to sell their homes on E-Bay with perks...

Besides, the concept of "raffling" does not apply as a person would buy a "ticket" and hope to "win" the prize (house)...so technically it is a logistics nightmare and would not work....

  2. You have to be either a non-profit agency or hold a casino license.

Individuals are not allowed to hold lotteries.
