Is it legal to require a worker to transport material and ONLY be paid for mileage and Not time?

My job makes us drive approx. 30 minutes while only paying mileage and nothing for the time.

  1. Check with the Wage Standards Division in your state, in the department of labor.  They can tell you about your options.  You can file for your pay, but you would probably be let go as a result.  


  2. No, its not legal to use your own vehicles for work. For starters you need commercial insurance, which is much more expensive than individual insurance.

  3. If you put up with it.......that's your issue.........
