Is it legal to retail clothing brand names such as american eagle in a clothing store?

so do i need to get papers to sell the clothing or is it a free market... selling a.e, abercombie,etc would be o.k?.

  1. It is legal to sell Abercrombie, American Eagle, etc., _IF_ the clothes themselves are legitimate.

    But most of the time, if you see these and other major brands outside of their own stores, the clothing is fake.  And selling fake products will get you in serious legal trouble.  You could get sued for trademark infringement and fraud by the company whose name is on the product.  You could even be fined or arrested.

    If you have a connection that gets you legitimate overstocks, for example, then you are okay.  It's still real.  But if you get some no-name shirts that say "Abercrombie," be very careful.
