Question:

Is it legal to sell dell computer components?

I have a broken Dell computer (processor fried), and have now upgraded to a new computer. Is it legal for me to sell the component parts (Power supply, motherboard, case etc.)?

E.g. on ebay?

I would be selling in the UK, but I assume the rules would be pretty similar world-wide.

thanks very much in advance

  1. Absolutely legal.  You won the pc and it's parts.  There are no laws to stop you.

  2. Why should you think it's illegal - where do you think eBay parts come from?  Anything but Dell?  (Sure some people would fine w/that.)

The problem might arise if you claim that you are some Dell re-seller or can have Dell guarantee them (though that doesn't sound like what you're doing) or that they are new or in better condition than they are - in which case, it wouldn't matter who made them.

  3. Sure as long as you the owner
