It's not legal, though I have to agree with Stingjam, but only to an extent. Technically speaking, to be smoking marijuana (even if it's just a spliff) means you are basically 'in possession' of said substance. The thing is....do you really want to risk it?

Its not legal but people do it anyways. They don't take it as seriously as Canadian or American police.

Technically, it is NOT illegal to smoke weed in Jamaica but it is illegal to be in possession of any quantity of weed/marijuana.

I have NEVER heard of a case of people being charged with smoking. They get charged with possession of marijuana (if they still have it on them) or possession of marijuana smoking apparatus (such as a chillum pipe).
