Who cares?? What cop in his right mind is going to stand outside your window + write you a ticket? With a tornado in the area he's going to be too busy with storm calls to bother you anyway.

LOL...well, I'd venture to say that all the cops will be elsewhere, evacuating people, etc...they probably aren't going to bother pulling someone over...and what? hang out and write a ticket while their car gets sucked away?

I'm thinking if the tornado is pretty close, there won't be any cops around to catch you. But even if you do get pulled over they'll probably just tell you to get home as quickly but safely as possible. Most cops are pretty reasonable when you explain things to them.

It's not legal but I doubt you'd be stopped unless you were driving just completely irresponsibly and dangerous. [weaving in and out of traffic, acting like a drunk maniac].  Plus, have you ever seen a police officer out during a terrible storm?  Usually not...they are seeking safety themselves!  [and they were probably speeding to get there!]

It probably makes a difference.

I can't imagine a highway patrol officer with a radar gun out unless he's pointing it AT  the tornado.

Well I would say no. Because if you were going to be in a tornado and there were other people on the same road you could indanger then and yourself. but i do understand wanting to get out of there as fast as you can Just please do it in a safe maner
