I called City Hall, the police department and the Parks and Recreations department and no one seems to know. Where could I find this information? If you know the answer please tell me.

  1. If you are referring to the Meramec that runs through Missouri, then yes, you can swim in it.  However, it is a stupid thing to do because there are a significant number of sharp dropoffs and undercurrents.

  2. I wouldn't recommend swimming in any industrial river. No telling what is in there and at what spot concentrations. If you blunder into , say PCBs, you're a dead man sometime in the near future with an almost guaranteed cancer. I don't care how "clean" the river is. I know how that is determined and I repeat, I would not go swimming in any industrial river.
