Is it legal to take a metal detector into Ukraine ?

I am going to Ukraine next summer and I was wondering if customs would allow me to take a metal detector onto the plane and if customs in Ukraine would let me take it into the country ?

Okay so you're asking if you can sneak a Metal Detector THROUGH a metal detector. I'm assuming you're talking about one of the ones you use  at a beach to pick up jewelry of some sorts. If this is in fact what you're talking about, I would call the airline - they may make you check it as checked luggage. But the last time I flew Air Ukraine was... never.

There are no regulations against bringing a metal detector in Ukraine. May I suggest, if at all possible, taking the detector with you in your carry-on luggage.  Kyiv-Borispol airport has gotten the reputation of pilfering your luggage and stealing anything of value.
