Is it legal to turn off the electricity on an elderly person who is disabled and on oxyger in texas?

ambit energy turned off my moms energy after she was 5 days late on her bill. after my mom paid $150 and got assistance to pay $100, they told her it was $150 to turn them back on. after i paid that they said it was $120 to turn the lights back on. after i paid that for her, they said they needed $62 to turn them back on. then $62 more, then $96 more! i NEVER got a hold of an actual person, even after waiting over an hour on hold! FINALLY, they turned the lights on! this CANT be legal! please help us!

  1. I would call two places...the better business bureau in your area and file a complaint, and also the state board of health.  I wouldn't think it would be legal, but I really can't say for sure.  Start there.


  2. Why not try someone at the county atty's office or the State PUC comission.
