in Michigan you can but you can`t transfer one spiecies from one lake to another. Check your local regulations. sporting goods store or bait shop for a copy of your states regulations.

I know it's a $5.000 fine if you use trout to fish with. I would call the game, fish & wildlife conservation to find out & you might want to ask of thier limits at:

In the states where I fish it is illegal to use spiny finned fish as bait.  That would make all sunfish and perch illegal for bait.
