Is it legel to ride atv's in iowa city streets?

You may only drive an ATV if your vehicle is licenced (with a plate) and insured to do so. Otherwise they are considered off road vehicles and cannot be ridden within town/city limits, or on any highway (anywhere between the fences). Read your local "off roads Vehicle Act".

Your ATV can be confiscated and impounded and you'll have to pay the fees to get it back, as well as getting a stiff fine of $200. or so.

If you're in a development type of place then yeah no one really cares but I wouldn't ride it in the main streets esp. if you don't have a license!

Check with Iowa police department... most cities dont really care if you are in a neighbhorhood or whatever..
