Is it life threatening for a 8 week old kitten to take a 3 hour plane trip?

No; an 8 week old kitten cannot tell time; wouldn't know the difference.

Now if you ship it in the baggage compartment of a big jet it might freeze to death, but just a 3 hour ride in your lap would not hurt.  Be more specific about your conditions.

i dont know what u thinking, i dont think they have places for little newborn animals.u cant have it with u, and i dont know if they will let u having mom and kitten in the same cage

It should be okay I would think but if not ask the plane company people or look on the website about what it would say about taking animals on flights

P.S why would u wanna take a cat on holiday? It wouldnt be good cos u would still have to look after it even on holiday and in a WHOLE different country! Lol :)

No it would be fine. You get a little carring case and you can put it under the seat in front of you. Pack the case with lots of blankets and some goodies should be fine. Do not sedate the kitten. If the kitten gets scared put him in your jacket so its in the dark near your heart and warm too.

Hmm. It could be, but I honestly don't think it would hurt it. Babies fly on planes and little dogs do too. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

It's not the best thing for him/her.  Check with the airline to see if you are able to take the kitten with you in the cabin (you'll have to buy an airline approved carrier anyway before the trip).  If not remember, it may get very hot or very cold in the baggage compartment, and the kitten may get sick because of the temperature changes.  I would leave him home with a sitter or at a kennel if at all possible until he is older.  Also, check with your vet - they may have other ideas too.
