Is it likely for a tornado to touchdown during a tropical storm?

it is very unlikely that a serious storm or hurricane will create a tornado near you.  but tornadoes are so damaging you need to stay inside when the storms come near.  tornadoes are created by the bad weather, they will not just develop out of calm air.

and if by busy you mean urban, that's even less likely due to the wind disturbances created by large buildings

Well im not sure but its possible i live in pembroke pines this city is not a tornandocity!!! It can form by what type of ground. Just to tell you. Dont Worry nothin is gonna happen:)

I live in hurricane country--you know, like near "Katrina-ville." A hurricane is a tropical storm and once in a while tornadoes are spawned off them. So the answer is YES it is very possible! My husband lived in the suburbs of New Orleans and you could see damage from tornadoes as every few building were hit by tornadoes spawned by Hurricane Katrina.

I was in florida, and there was a hurricane going on. And two tornados hit aswell. Two trees fell on my house and a roof was ripped off my nabors house. It was scary.

Max S, A tornado can drop put of a clear blue sky, it's happened many times before. tropical storms are very favorable for a tornado, severe or not

and big Cities does not prevent tornado's, it has happened in Miami a few years ago. if one does touch down, head for the basement, or a closet,

or the hallway. keep away from windows because the high winds and pressure can shatter the window, sending shivers of glass every where.

put a mattress around you and your wife if she is with you, if a tornado should touch down. Do Not try to film it. lot's of people get struck by lightning every year trying to film a tornado. I used to live in Oklahoma,

where lot's of tornado's touch down.

Yes tornadoes can occur when a tropical system makes landfall.  Tornadoes can occur in the outer bands of the hurricane where thunderstorms are present.  This is why the Storm Prediction Center will issue a tornado watch for part of an area where the tropical system is making landfall.

NO. A HURRICANE IS A TROPICAL STORM. IT FORMS OVER WATER. A TORNADO FORMS OVER LAND. THERE IS NO WAY FOR A TORNADO TO TOUCH DOWN IN A TROPICAL STORM.

Doesn't matter if you live in a city, Downtown atlanta had some issues this summer when tornados touched down destroying a small part of downtown the dome, the cnn building.

Depending on the air pressure and the temperature is how you get tornadoes so...just becareful.

During a tropical storm, lots of tornadoes touch down all the time. With that much turbulence and warm air, there sometimes can be a hundred of them down at once.
