Is it long distance?

when you are on a house phone,and u call someone in a different state,and they are on their cell phone,is it long distance calling?

ex. calling someone in NJ on their cell,from MA on ur home phone

Yes, it would be long distance, but if your concern is about

costs, then you need to know the company plan for your

house phone service.  Some companies provide unlimited

long distance service at no extra cost for all calls made to

telephones located in the USA and maybe Canada too.

These companies are those that provided Voice over the

Internet Protocol (VOIP) and the calls are made over

high speed internet, for example Vontage and Packet 8.

It your company does not have that service, then you

are probably looking at a cost of around .5 per minute.  

All costs depend upon the company and the plan that you

have.
