Is it me or does it seem that McDonalds has recently been targeting black people?

I did notice that the commercials for the southern style chicken burger has all black people in it but i think it's because they are trying to compare their chicken burger with southern food, but then again for years and years when they showed a white family eating Big Macs no one said that McDonald's was targeting white people !  McDonald's has realized that the younger generation is more health consious so it's trying to get back a younger crowd which now a days is prefering subway.  They want people of all races to eat their food.  We all know from time to time we all want our McDonald's !

The whole "I'm lovin' it" campaign over the past four years (or so) has been targeted primarily toward an urban demographic.

So, yes you are correct in your observation.

They are definitely targeting the urban demographic.  Many people from all levels of income eat at McDonald's but the vast majority are people who are of the low income level.  Unfortunately, in the US, the largest low income ethnicity is black people.  In urban areas they dominate the population.   By the way, on the registers the cashier punches in what race is the person that is ordering.  They don't ask you but if an Asian person walks up there's an option for Asian before the register allows the cashier to place an order.

i dont mean this in a bad way: but i think they target poor people.

like lower class, because we can often only afford cheap food.

i think they think rap songs on their commercials make poorish people relate to them.

I though it was asians they're targeting because they're building a lot more chains over there...and plus they're helping to sponsor the olympics in Beijing, I think?

but i guess the Mcdonalds where I live is trying to seem more 'hip' and 'down'.  In one of the commercials I saw a while back, maybe a month ago, they have a young black guy talk in the stereotypical way a black guy would...

Seems like they are stereotyping quite a bit.  All the commercials for the new Chicken sandwich have African Americans in them.  Caucasions, Latinos, Asians, etc all like chicken too Ronald McDonald!
