I swear when I was a kid back in the early 90's the Big Mac was bigger. It looks smaller these days.

Have you noticed this?

  1. It used to fall apart because the bun was SOGGY! They probably are smaller though as all of these fast food places are reducing the size of their food portions to compensate for the increase in the gasoline price. Less for your money, that's the way of the world!

  2. Yes, i have noticed it too.  That is why i don't go there anymore for a burger, they don't give enough beef

  3. Sorry, I think you're getting bigger...

  4. Yes it is getting smaller. The burger used to stick out of the sides of the bun. Now you have to open the bun to see the burger.

  5. Haven't noticed and I eat a Big Mac at least once a week :)

  6. When you were a little kid, everything looked bigger

  7. I agree with you that the Big Mac seems smaller now-a-days.  The last one I had I could hardly find the burger patties.

  8. yes..it does seem smaller.

  9. Yeah, they are, well they LOOK like they are.

I would never touch one of those things anyways, its just a quicker way to get clogged arteries.

  10. Yea I think it's getting smaller. They should just call it Mac.

  11. The Big Mac hasn't gotten smaller. You've gotten bigger.

  12. Yes, as well as many other sandwiches that you get at fast-food joints these days.

  13. i think yr just getting bigger and bigger hence the big mac getting smaller and smaller!

  14. Yes, they have reduced their potion size to help make people less obese off of their products. They were put to shame in a movie.

  15. maybe you're just getting bigger?  lol, j/k..I don't know, I don't eat big macs, I do know that quarter pounder has stayed the same (thus the name) :)

  16. I would say no; compare this 1970s Big Mac ad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en4muUSIR... with this one from the 1990s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfqndIrrI... (look near the end.)  And check the McDonald's website here, http://app.mcdonalds.com/bagamcmeal?proc... to see a current day Big Mac.  They look all about the same to me.

Back in high school, I worked at a McDonalds, and I know that the standard meat patties used on a Big Mac are one-tenth of a pound each.  I bet the meat patties used in the 90s were the same size.    The secret sauce, reconstituted onions, lettuce, and cheese are all the same, although some employees may add slightly more or less.

However, it's possible that the buns were different; I've heard that the recipe for the buns was changed a number of years back so that they were a little softer, and toasted a little quicker.  If there's a difference between the Big Macs of your childhood and the Big Macs of now, that would probably be it.
