Can I get some opinions? Especially from Americans? But I'm absolutely shocked by the line of questioning this Bob Neumeier takes when he interviews athletes after a US disappointment on the track? Anyone watch Lolo Jones' interview when she fell? I just saw him interviewing Tyson g*y after the dropped baton. Please tell me everyone sees it too..that this Neumeier guy is so insensitive and rude. It basically felt like he was saying "So Tyson..do you even practice simple baton exchanges before a race?" you %&$^head....what the heck do YOU think?! Get a life BOB....

  1. the guy is right. how in the h**l do u drop the baton?!?!? THATS YOUR JOB! YOU GRAB THE BATON, YOU RUN YOUR BUTT OFF!! THATS IT!!!! THE MAN IS RIGHT!! HOW CAN U DEFEND A MORON WHO HAS HIS COUNTRY DISQUALIFIED??

its like being a limo driver nd showing up to work witout da d**n car. u show up in a freakin 1967 pinto. youve just failed. and thts wt this guy did. HE FAILED BADLY!

  2. You just don't know how lucky you are.

In Oz we have had to suffer the rantings of one Bruce McAvaney all through the swimming events. If that wasn't bad enough he is now calling every track & field event.

Channel 7 in Oz have no idea how many people switch channels because of this boofhead!

  3. i dont know who that is cos im australian. But a couple of the australian ones, it seems like they try and make the athlete cry. just to get a story after a dissapointing performance.

ofcourse they are upset fool, its their dream to win.

Maybe this behaviour is just normal for them? who knows

  4. i would ask the same question because the baton drop is inexcusable. those guys should be able to do that blindfolded in their sleep.  i mean these our best top level athletes and were supposed to be one of the best in sprinting events these arent just high schoolers out there.

  5. I totally agree with you on his line of questioning.  These athletes have trained for most of their lives to be in the best possible shape and to be the best in the world.  All have had to make huge sacrifices in regards to schooling, having a family and most social activities that do not revolve around their sport.  All of the years of training, hard work and dedication all comes down to a spec of a moment in time with adrenaline running at red line.  And then, when the results do not go the their way.....when the athlete realizes that they will not medal and everything they have worked for has no real tangible item to show for, that is an emotional letdown.  Then cue Bob Neumeier to come in and rub salt in the huge cut.  Thank goodness these are true professional athletes and able to control their emotions how they have because old Bob might receive a fist to the gut if he attacked me that way.

Congrats USA on all of your accomplishments and thank you for representing the country well.

  6. I'm in the middle with you and the guy that first answered... Yes, he is a professional and he shouldn't have dropped it. However, don't forget that he still is human, he isn't flawless. Perhaps this reporter should have more carefully chose his words.

  7. No, it was not rude, it was his job to find out what is going on as everyone viewing it wanted to know or at least hear a first-hand reaction to the stupid misstake.

Are we supposed to just sweep the whole deal under the rug and just ignore it?  Would you be happy if he just said "Poor Tyson, I guess maybe he was a little anxious?"

These guys have to be held accountable for stupid mistakes such as these. They train for years and are selected to represent our country and expected to perform at their best to bring home a medal for their country. It's a matter of patriotism here and wanting to do the best you can.  These are not just tryouts or practice. This is the real deal and both the men and women relay teams failed miserably during the heats because they couldn't pass a baton to another team players hand.

I'm an American and I say, go Bob you did good, go for it and find out what the ........ is going on out there.

  8. If a Bob Neumeier question can't start something controversial he won't ask it. It's a tribute to the professionalism of the athletes that they talk to him at all. Does anyone know what are his credentials for sports? He certainly has no personality.

  9. I AGREE 100%! HE WAS WORSE IN HISTORY OF SPORTS. HE WAS COLD AND UNFAMILIAR WITH T&F.  THIS WAS SAD.  I SENT EMAILS MR LOGAN AT USATF AND NBCSPORTS.  VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HIS COVERAGE OF OUR ATHLETES. NEVER SEEN ANYONE SPEAK TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS AT A TRACK AND FIELD MEET.  HE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE TELECAST IMMEDIATLY.  I AM VERY DISPLEASED WITH HIM AND DISSAPOINTED THAT HE WILL PROBABLY BE ON TELEVISION TONITE, STINKING IT UP AGAIN AND BEING RUDE!!!!

  10. No my friend from the north... it is not just you. I've talked to my dad, girlfriend and brother about this same bag of douche that you speak of. They are all in total agreement that Bob is the biggest tool covering the olympics... and with Tiki Barber in that crew that's quite an accomplishment. His interview with Wallace Spearman was borderline retarded... he totally hung Wallace out to dry after Spearman claimed that he would protest the DQ for stepping on the lane line. Bone head Bob asked him if he was really going to protest it like he would be an idiot if he did. when Spearman said "yeah, definitely", Bob just stared at him and didn't say another word... leading Spearman to look back puzzled, and then at the camera man as if  to say "we done?"... "we cool?" Total akward silence... not Bob's 1st akward silence of the Olympics and i guarantee it won't be his last.
