Is it me or is China depleting alot of our eco system.?

I look out in my yard, there are hardly any birds signing or flying, no crickets at night, no frogs are croaking, the leaves on the trees are wilted..is their any other people out there that sees our world is dying..

There is so much BS going on about a president...neither is going to make things better its just one will make them worse faster..how can we repair the planet? China rapes the waters and lands of ALL life they eat every dam thing that breaths how can we stop this..

Don't blame China for polluting your garden. 50 years ago it was America and the West - it's just their turn.

Yes we should all take steps to reduce it. For a start - how about recycling in our own countries - rather than shipping it out to China for them to clean up our mess ?

It's easy to blame China. What's hard is to know that the process started with our own industrialization (oil/coal based manufacturing) and that a good chunk of their current pollution problems are created by the manufacturing of goods for OUR consumption.

You may have heard recently that China has finally passed the US as the country with the highest carbon emissions. The thing you need to consider is their population is more than 4 times ours. So, per person they pollute 1/4 as much as the average American. They have had a law to slow down poplulation growth for more than 20 years, you may have heard about the 1 child per family law, this has prevented more than 1 billion people from being born, the government knew if they didn't slow down the population growth the country couldn't support it's people. Many of those factories that were shut down near Bejing to improve air quality were built to supply the US with cheap plastic goods.

When you campare the US with China, we lose, we are 5% of the population of the world, yet we consume more than 25% of it's resources. They still have millions of people who live withour electricity, approx, 200 million that live on less than $2 a day.

The reason for no birds and insects is our own fault, it's called habitat destruction, the birds that used to live where your home is built have to go away to find food. We spray chemicals all over our gardens to get rid of pests, these chemicals go into our water system and kill wildlife. When was the last time you saw worms in your lawn? Most lawn fertilizers are salt based and kill all the worms.

So look in the mirror when you want to know who is depleting our ecosystem.

Well, it is you. If you are an American, you are one of the biggest polluters per capita in the world. Have you ever thought that "between 16 July 1945 and 23 September 1992 the United States of America conducted (by official count) 1054 nuclear tests, and two nuclear attacks"? That is a lot of pollution too.
