  1. I believe Cotto fought one of his finest matches, clean shots, great style, great speed.  To be honest, I never seen him fight this good, It's just that the other guy didn't care about any of that, he just kept up punching and wore him down.

Cotto was well prepared, he looked great, he fought like a champion but unfortunaly that wasn't enough.

I agree, Margarito didn't really connected that many clean punches, however, Cotto couldn't handle the few punches that Margarito was able to get through.

  2. it was a great fight Cotto Did what he could But as we all know Margarito was just way to much for him. Cotto should just think about fight guys in lighter weight classes other the de la hoya or mayweather cotto would get stoped again if he fight Margarito

  3. I'm not upset, I'm thrilled. Going into the fight, I didn't give Margarito much of a chance having watched more Cotto fights in my life. After the 6th round, I said Cotto's too quick and smart, he has this fight in the bag. Boy was I wrong! Immediately in the 7 the tide changed and Margarito was able to hurt Cotto and dominate the rest of the fight. Classic bout!

  4. yea COTTO  is the bomb, but one thing got me more ticked than i could ever imagine. i ordered the fight, and scored it at home with my father, who is the best judge ever, ( b/c hes watched boxing forever) I had cotto winning, by 2 points, the past couple of rounds he took "off" for a breather. i dont blame him, margarito was like a monster he just kept coming. but when cotto was going down, if he kept going, and won the last round, i would have him winning the fight barely. but the retarted judges had margarito winning at the end, b/c if u watched the fight and i mean watched it, you could see that margarito didnt land that many clean punches. so u could make a case that (this is what i thought) the judges scored the fight on flurries, which they always do. which is just disgusting and horribad. plus its doesnt help that margarito had a head like a rock. but the judging and harold lederman, was pathetic and the judging wouldve screwed cotto over in the end if he kept going      yea but im still ticked

  5. I was pissed! Cotto wasn't up to his full game or something, but it was still a good fight.

  6. I would've been pissed if the fight had gone 12 rounds and the fight went to Cotto, which we all know probably wasn't going to happen since Margarito was ahead on two judges cards at the time of the TKO.  But it would've been a shame if it had gone that way, because Cotto never hurt Margarito!  By the 10th round Cotto was completely beat up!

  7. Lots of good remarks, like Puffy said, it was a well fought fight by Cotto, in fact a great performance, his control of the ring was brilliant, he doubled up the jab, what more could he do? Margarito is just impossible to hurt for a welterweight, I was shocked however at how quick Cotto came apart in the 11th, it seemed all at once it came crashing to an end for him, too bad since his performance would have earned him the victory in my opinion. Being in Las Vegas of course the crowd was more Mexican, if it were in Atlantic City or NYC you would see a big fan base for Cotto.

  8. I think Cotto would win on points in a rematch.  He would NOT KO Margo but he would just outpoint him.

  9. get over it,the better man won..cotto is still a great champion and last saturdays bout displayed skill vs will and the guy with the better skills failed because of his weak chin..a rematch would end pretty much the same but earlier!

  10. Im furious. Margarito should have been deducted a point when he hit Cotto when he was down:-(

  11. Im pissed but I am very happy that is was a good fight and that cotto lost like a champion. I applaud cotto due to his tenecity and his courage to face margarito. it was a great fight regardless of who won or loss

  12. yeah I thought Cotto was gonna win

  13. I'm not angry, I love both these fighters. Cotto deserves so much respect for fighting Margarito when everyone (esp. Fraud Mayweather) has been ducking him. Cotto fans naturally have a right to be upset, but your boy fought a tremendous fight, and I know he'll be back for more, so be proud.

  14. I still feel like absolute **** man. Cotto is my favorite fighter along with Pavlik and it killed me to see him like that. But as much as i am a Cotto fan i am a realist and knew Margo had a huge possibilty to win. I myself actually had Cotto as the underdog in this fight.

I still think he can edge a decision against Margo if he changes his gameplan a bit. He was doing very well in the first half but gassed out and should have stayed in the middle of the ring and worked the body more but in the end he didnt do this. plain and simple.

i know Cotto will come back and beat some top welters before maybe having a rematch with Margo. it was a painful image to see his wife and kid crying but Cotto will be back and give us some good fights and memories. Big props to Margo. An outstanding win and he deserves the spotlight after eating so much **** but Im a Cotto fan for life.
