Is it me or is this woman rude??

If you announced yourself by saying pardon me, or excuse me I just need some staples, then I would say she was beyond rude.  If the admin keeps the office supplies, in her area, they should have anticipated a interruption.

There's no right or wrong, If I know you are a good person, I say you are right, If I know she is a good person, I say she is right. I have to see it to believe it, information from one party is always questionable.

I suggest that you fight fire with fire, if she feels that she can be prudish and immature, then you should too, if youre leaving, I cant see what the problem is.

Or if you are passive, try and avoid her, and if you have to be in contact with her, try and keep your communication to a minimal.

If you are aggressive (like me) ask her what her problem is, explain to her that you feel that she is treating you unfairly and that you would like to leave on good terms. But you do not deserve to be spoken to like that.

If what you say is the whole truth I would tell her to get screwed and never to talk to you that way again....you can't let a bully get away with that...or they will never stop. It Will make you feel better to tell her off.

Coming up two people in conversation you should have been a few steps back in order to not hear what was being discussed.  If you were close enough to hear what they were talking about than that is considered rude, even though idol chit chat should not be going on in the work place.

Be glad your on your way out.  This woman apparently sees no reason to be nice to you since you have put in your notice.  Being civil must be a real stretch for this woman.
