I'm watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony and am just amazed!! I've seen dark people with fine, straight hair. Also, I'm black and have noticed even though we go from really dark to really light but not everything in between. Have you noticed this too? Can you tell the difference between African-Americans and other black people by there skin color & hair texture or am I crazy? And the which country a white person is from by looking at their noses & other features? Thanks!!!!

  1. sometimes you are curious because of the difference, sometimes you can't tell and i wouldn't be surprised at all that people of a certain group (the KKK) had "a drop of black" in them.

But with some blacks who are very light skinned you can't tell unless they tell you.

  2. If they have fine, straight hair & dark skin, then they might be mixed with something. I usually can't tell simply by skin color or hair texture if they're African American or just African, Jamaican, etc. But I DO know that if they have straight, wavy hair, light eyes, slanted eyes, etc. or light skin with coarse hair, then chances are, they're most likely bi- or multiracial.

  3. Yes!  I have noticed before that some Germans have very sharp facial features.

  4. Yes it's true, if you think about it there were only American indians to look at in the U.S. three hundred years ago! The same in Australia, only Aboriginals faces to look at! so you are quite correct in the assumption that people faces are getting regionalised.
