Is it monadatory for a company to give an experience letter to an employee?

i worked for a company 2 years ago. yesterday i asked for an experience letter but the manager refuses to provide me with it? what can i do to get? i need it urgently.

  2. Nothing, they're not obligated to do anything. Try performing better at your next job if you manage to get one and talk to your supervisors about getting your plug letter before you leave there.

  3. No it is not mandatory it is a courtesy for an employer to give a letter of reference. The only time I have been asked for them is when an employee is moving out of town or a student is embarking on their career and I was their first job.

    I only give them if I truly have compliments about the person which means I have had to refuse a few because I was not going to lie.

    In most instances your former employers are listed as "previous employers" on an application or resume. You include your supervisor's name and a contact phone number as well as a job description. Therefore you don't need a letter of reference.
