  1. l.o.l. they get more than just money!!!!!! they are all so crooked, its sad!!!! all sinful, greedy, money mongers!!!

  2. It kind of Defeats the Purpose of a Democracy doesn't it?  It does Not Allow for All the People to be Represented in that Republic!  Crooks, infidels, Traitors.

  3. First things first - We are not now nor have we ever been a DEMOCRACY, We are a REPUBLIC - democracy is mob rule (we the sheeple) a republic is (we the people) "and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands".

As far as I am concerned lobbying should be illegal, it takes morals and ethics from a decision or a vote and puts it up for bid. I don't really see a valid argument for the lobbyist other than they are protected by those who they lobby. I don't care who you are its hard to turn down lump sums of undocumented cash.

  4. The issue is ethically, not morally constituted. As an elected representative, one's duty is to the constituents, as opposed to one's self.

  5. ask al gore if it is ok if your spouse works for a lobbyist or is a lobbyist.  That would be interesting to see how he defends that especially since he was on the commitee that reviewed her complaints.  but enough of the history lesson.

Morally?  Maybe.  Ethically? without a doubt it is wrong.

  6. I strongly believe it is, it should never be, as these many "perks" sways votes, bills, money, everything for the lobbyists' agenda.

  7. In a country which wants to call itself a democracy?  Definitely no (on all counts).

Any politicians who can be bought do not represent the people.
