Plants are living things too. Why do we harm them just for our own vanity?

  1. No it is not because my developed morality does not object.Decapitating the rose does not kill the plant.Besides i do not buy flowers.I see no use from watching a plant die in my vase on my table.I rather plant it in the ground and admire it from there. The plants however do want us to eat their seeds so that they could spread farther by luring us with their colorful fruit. They give us all the energy we need and we give the plants transport for their seeds in return.A mutually beneficial relationship and perfectly moral. If you do not eat plants what do you eat?I am sure you have at least one clothing item on you,or in your house, that is made from a plant.Hypocrisy is not a virtue.Even the computer you use was partially made from plants or the plants were removed to dig out the resources to make the computer.

  2. O yeah,,,,typical liberal thinking, decapitate a rose is wrong, but abortion is ok.

  3. Gary - what is morally wrong for what I presume to be a man to even ask such a question.  If what you ask is true, is it also morally wrong to mow the grass?  We might be hurting the grass's feelings.

  4. I would agree with you there but im not sure but arent we suppose to do that? i thought i saw somewhere that it helps the roses grow again much healthier but im not sure either way ppl are always vain never caring about other life.

  5. Morals are something that are individual traits and the same morals are not shared by humankind as a whole.  For one to say what another's morals should be, is, in itself probably morally wrong.  Our morals are generally based in what religion we are brought up in (or lack of religion).  Is it morally wrong to say you will only wear natural fibers so that animals won't be harmed, yet the most prevalent fiber worn (cotton) probably does more to harm wildlife (the production of cotton) than any other crop.  If your question is based on the fact that you might hurt a rose, what do you eat?  Me personally I have no moral problem with eating either plant matter or animal protien.

  6. Roses are born to die .all flowers are ,

you don`t kill the plant by cutting a rose ,

on the contrary you give it more strength for development ,

that why they prune roses ,

  7. When we pick a flower, we are not decapitating it so much as we are castrating it as the flower is the collection of reproductive structures in the plant. We do this without caring b/c a picked flower will be replaced in the next growing season. Cutting and pruning plants can make them grow thicker and become hardier, so its not all bad.

  8. Unlike mammals and other living beings, they usually don't die when "decapitated". And, it's not moral for dandelions to populate in your lawns when you don't want them to.
