  1. Obviously it depends where about on the planet you are. In summer the Sun is closer and shines more directly on the hemisphere North or South of the Equator that you happen to be in.

The result of this increase in energy is a warming of the land and a higher rate of evaporation from the surface of the sea or any large lakes that happen to be in the vicinity.

The warmed air over the land rises and sucks in the moist air from over the sea. This is how onshore monsoon winds form and how tropical coastal areas get their daily sea mist or typical shower of rain.

Living on or near the coast in summer therefore, you will definitely experience increased humidity. Living far inland, perhaps not quite so much.

  2. Yes!  Warm air can hold more moisture than cool air.  That's why you see clouds "up there," because as the air rises it cools.  And ... cooler air cannot hold as much moisture.

But ... 100 percent humidity is by definition total saturation and you can have 100 percent humidity on any given day in the summer or the winter.  It just takes less moisture to achieve 100 percent humidity in the winter time.  But you wouldn't say that the air is any less moist.

  3. Yes.

  4. As the air temperature increases, the capacity of the air to hold water vapour also increases. So,as the temperature increases(as in the case of summer time),humidity also increases. But this is subject to availability of additional moisture. So,particularly in coastal stations where humidity is available, air is definitly  more humid in summer whereas in deserts, even though temperatutre increases in summer, humidity does not increase as moisture is not available.

  5. Yes

  6. For the most part, no. Winter weather usually brings dry air and humidity near 40 percent. But you can get a lot of winter days where the humidity is over 80 percent. You will feel this when its windy and it feels so damp and cold outside, and the humidity will be that high evertytime you get hit with precipitation. But, the hotter it is, the more you will notice the humidity. That is becuase the air feels so thick and uncomfortable, but when its cold, sometimes you can't detect that it is humid outside.
