Is it more rude to call somebody ugly to their face or call them ugly behind their back?

i say it's more rude to call someone ugly behind their back. i think it's better to let someone know where they stand up front so they don't go and make a fool of themselves.

Both are rude. You shouldn't talk about someones looks because it's not their fault to begin with. You shouldn't even care what they look like!

Why do you feel the need to comment on someone's looks either way? the whole thing is rude.  the one who has to make mean comments about someone's looks is arrogant and the most foolish of all.

Would you want someone calling YOU ugly either to your face or behind your back?  Think about it.

It is rude no matter what.  Name calling is immature and silly.

The rule is "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

You would be the fool, not those you are insulting.

I agree- why do you get to be the judge? Who made you the Expert on beauty and such? I agree- you would be the fool.  Keep your rude and inconsiderate comments to yourself.

Both are equally rude... its just bad form to be disrepectful to someone like that... and it just makes the person saying the rude things look like an ***... people will not think badly of the person being talked about, they will think badly about the person doing the talking.

Behind their back is more rude, because they aren't given the option to reply. In their face they have a chance to reply. Both are rude anyway.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's hard to find in people who go around calling others ugly.
