can you find the value of x without letting y to be 0.because i can.

  1. Well usually these 'discoveries' depend on the problem. If we had one as the following:

    - you have a rectangle and know that its length is x and height is y.  You know it has a perimeter of a 100. Calculate its area.

    In this case you would simply solve for y by changing the expression 100 = 2y + 2x to y = 50 + x

    from there you substitute that in the expression : 100 = 50 + 2x and that would mean x = 25

    Using the expression to calculate area it should be written in this form : A = 25 x (50 + 25) and the area would be equal to 1875.

    Thats a very simple case, there are others, but in this case i can pretty safely say that no, you did not discover how to solve for x while not equaling y to 0.

    However, if you are interested in math problems, and dont mind making money along the way, then i suggest you check this website (problems are to the right). I don't know up to what level of math you've taken but theyre still interesting to look at non-the-less
