Is it my imagination, or are people "gallivanting" less?

yes, I noticed  it is true. I think that it is new fashion for somebody who not got a nice taste

Gallivanting is less open than it once was. Unlike the old days, the modern gallivanter tends to hide in darkness and shame, gallivanting only when they are sure that they are in a safe environment, away from the prying eyes of society.
