Is it my imagination or have there been more earthquakes in populated areas recently?

  1. There are thousands of earthquakes every day throughout the world.  If it happens in the middle of a desert, no one cares. If it happens under your house, you care.

  3. The only reason that it seems that there are more natural occurrences in populated areas is simply because population growth is taking place in areas where there were normally not many people. The statistics show that there are no more natural disasters than there were 100 years ago, except with the growth in population, more damage occurs during these typical occurrences.

  4. southern california is on a fault line, so there has always been a high danger of an earthquake in southern california.

  5. They are going to ban female aerobic classes in the   Southern California area.   The risk is too great.

  6. if you looked at the areas that the fault lines are you will notice that most or on costal areas and river valleys and humans have always lived in these same kind of areas. that said there are earthquakes happening every few hours somewhere on the planet every single day of the year and have been for billions of years.

    The media is faster , more worldwide and covers them quicker

    I still can't get over the fact that they have like skyscrapers in places prone to earthquakes.
