Is it natural for a Queen to sing the national anthem?

  2. Well, she never sings our national anthem because it's about her. National Anthems are sung by their own citizens, so she would never be expected to sing another country's anthem - neither would you!

  4. As Head of State she would not sing the National Anthem of the UK, however, those other states where she is Head of State are to the country not her so she may sing those National Anthems. If you mean of another state where she is not Head of State then no she would not but would stand for them.

I'd say it was awkward for her to sing the National Anthem because she'd be singing to herself about herself(her role in the UK at least).So she doesn't sing it.She stands at attention.The Queen merely stands at polite attention when foreign anthems are played.That is the correct etiquette: stand at polite attention to honor another country's National Anthem.And the Queen knows the correct behavior!
