  1. No - not at all.  You CAN buy one if you want one, but anyone can buy a .com or a .net etc.

    .co.uk signifies the UK which you may want on your website just like .ie signifies Ireland...  

    The choice is yours !


  2. no, it's not neccesary you can buy any domain you want...

    but I suggest you to buy .com, .net, .org, etc or your country domain...

  3. If you do buy a .co.uk domain, make sure that you can renew it via your host. I say this because if you buy it from your host at around five pounds for two years, and then the host cannot be found, the renewal fee from Nominet ( naming authority ) will be a massive 94 pounds inc vat.
