  1. it is not necessary but it helps to prevent rusting

  2. It helps, for it protects the base metal and gives a better surface for the real paint to adhere to

  3. Certainly recomended but not necessary. It is primarily to prevent rust.

  4. undergarments are necessary

  5. if you live in the north it would help keep the car from rusting

  6. most newer cars have galvanized floor pans and wheel wells so unless you live in the rust belt it won't be necessary to undercoat it but if you plan on keeping the car for more than 8 or 9 yrs. I would get it done.

  7. pends on where you live.personaly I would use a good rust paint.under coating peels more easily and in somecases holdes moisture.I paint ed

both my veichles and had both over 7 years.U have to touch up every year but its worth it.

  8. I never have and none of them have rusted through yet.

Matter of fact, the second Civic Hybrid I purchased, Honda told me they do not undercoat the Hybrids or they couldnt when I told them dont bother asking me if I want undercoating.

  9. Undercoating administered to cars prevents rust and constant dirt and moist that will eventually turn to rust. However, there are cars that were built and painted tough down under.  Unless your car is always subjected to flood waters and muds, you don't need to have undercoating. Constant cleaning and drying would preserve the car's original coating.

  10. If you live in a state that uses salt to melt snow and ice then yes. If you live close to the ocean in an humid environment then yes . To prevent rot from the salt and water. Rust is a car killer.

  11. If you live in a state where they salt the roads then It would help ALOT to prevent rust. Rust can really ruin a unibody vechicle. Do what i do and put some oil in a spray gun, add a little bit of diesal fuel to thin it out, and spray it on the underbody. Does it look like sh** yes it does... but it is the Best as far as rust prevention.

  12. No, it is not necessary to have an undercoating as cars get one from the factory.  But, the factory one is sometimes not really enough if there is deicer used in your area.  Still, it could be decades before the rust get bad enough to really cause damage.  Most dealers will offer to apply this for you at a really high cost for the cost of the spray on goop they use.  And even then some don't do a very good job, but then you don't have to crawl under the car to apply it yourself.  I'm not sold on it's usefulness though most of my vehicles have it.
