to extract an impacted wisdom tooth that hasn't cut through the gum yet? I really don't want to be put all the way under and my husband's boss was telling me it's difficult to find a doctor around here that will do it by just locally numbing it.

  1. Hi if its the bottom wisdom tooth you have to be put under and if they have to cut your gum and you will have to be put under i had my top 2 out awake but they were through and easy to get to but i would have sooner be a sleep didn't like the noise it was making . good luck

  2. it will be very painful and it could be dangerous since it is such a hefty procedure, not using general anesthesia.

  3. nope.it is not necessary.here in our country, dentist do it by local anesthesia only and i saw many cases like that, its just a matter of hitting enough the nerve, they will do a mandibular block and maybe a slight local anesthesia and things will go right
