Is it necessary to book an hotel in advance in Florence, Italy at the end of September?

Hi,

I'm planning to spend a week in Italy at the end of September, mainly in Florence but possibly also a little bit of Rome and Venice. Should it be possible to find accommodation in two-to-three star hotels without making a reservation in advance?

Thanks,

Amni

  4. I've done it Italy both ways. Booked way in advance- no problems. And booked on the spot- no problems. It's a matter of what you feel comfortable with. The cities you mention are full of tourists- I'd be more likely to book in advance.
