  1. I don't think it's necessary as there is no ticket sold out this problem. You just need to worry about the opening hours.

  2. You can buy it in advance from Rail Europe. Check out http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/passes...

If you are going to travel a lot in Switzerland you may want to purchase a Swiss Card. This way the excursion to Jungfraujoch is 1/2 price + you get lots of other perks.

If you choose not to purchase in advance, I would do so as soon as you get to your hotel in Interlaken. The concierge or receptionist can help. Or, if you are staying in a hostel (and there are a couple of good ones in Interlaken) they can help arrange as well. One hostel worth consider is Balmers http://www.balmers.com/

Another bit of trivia is that A "Good Morning Ticket" lets you save the equivalent of US $25 by catching an early train and returning from the Jungfraujoch station by noon. So, take the first train out!

  3. nope, but keep in mind that tickets can be rather expensive. you will be best off if you just stay at a cheap hotel. however, i wouldn't recommend staying in interlaken. maybe gimmelwald (not grindelwald) it is a really nice area!! beautiful wengen is also nice

  4. Just for the train ride? No. I don't even know if they sell them in advance. Do book a hotel ASAP and if you want a tour, that could sell out.
