Is it necessary to charge the UPS continuously ?

Is it not enough to disconnect once it is charged. and then when the indicator shows the charge is low to charge it again ?

  1. One should do that it is not necessary to charge UPS continuosly,but UPS usually discharge after some time i think thats why it is continously charged.


  2. it is tickle charging that takes place when the ups is not in use and is required to keep the ups circuits functioning so that it works when your electricity bunks

  3. Not necessary - but it is much easier to keep the charge on

    Left to itself, the lead acid batteries will lose charge by progressive chemical reactions

    So we charge it continuously at a slow rate (small current) called a "trickle charge"

    If the UPS gets discharged like when power fails - then when the power is restored, the charging current automatically increases to bring up the charge quicker

    Once it reaches a certain level of charge the current reduces and only a small "trickle" is maintained
