  2. Strictly speaking, you don't need a bank account in order to obtain a credit card. However, you need to have assets in order to apply for credit. And for most people, that would be the money in their bank accounts.

    If you have a decent job or an investment account, then you might be able to get one.

    There was a time when credit card companies pretty much gave every college graduates a credit card as they walk out the school but not any more.
