  1. There are many different reasons to layer shots.  The main reason is presentation.  Other reasons are that you want the bar guest to start off strong and finish with something tasty.  All liquor and liquers have weight values assigned to them.  A Raging Bull is Kahlua, Sambuca and Tequila.  Kahlua is the heaviest, so it must be poured first.  The Sambuca is slightly lighter, so you would pour that next.  Finally, Tequila is fairly light; you would want to pour this last.  This will the guest both visual and tasteful satisfaction.  Using a spoon is the easiest way to layer a shot.  Place the spoon above the first liquor or liquer about 1 to 2 cm and pour slowly.  Repeat this step as many times needed for the particular drink.  If you don't have alot of bartending experience USE THE SPOON.  The spoon will prevent bleeding.  This information has been given to you by a bartender with fifteen years experience.  The better your presentation the more you make Rule 3 of bartending.  If you have any future bartending ?'s email me chesterc87@yahoo.com
