My ph is 7.6 but the alkalinity is 163 in my pool. Do I need to worry about this?

  1. You should. TA is actually more important than pH. It is essentially the governor of all things to do with correct water balance. It is like a shock absorber on a car. At the proper level it  helps reduce the chance of your other readings, from dancing or at least going very far out of range. Right now, with a high TA you have pH lock and also aggressive water. Scale can be an issue as well as calcium hardness.
