My annoying teacher who teaches me how to read Quran, told me that I shouldn't wear pants and a shirt in public, and to wear hijab. I'll wear a hijab, but I will also wear jeans and a shirt, I don't want to wear a burka or salwar kameez. I don't wear any shirts that are tight, they are xlarge and large.

  1. Salwar kameez are just an Indian/Pakistani style of outfit.

    You can wear pants as long as your shirt is long enough to cover you bum  around to your mid-thighs and knees.

    I agree with the first answer. You can be a modest Muslimah and be modern.

  2. To tell you the truth, I don't think you have to. I'm a 15 year old Muslim boy, and I don't wear shalwar kameez out to school. I only wear them during Muslim weddings, parties, functions, or when the Muslim community of my town has the Eid celebration. My sisters are the same, too. They don't wear hijabs or burkas, but they wear modest clothing, like you. As long as either gender does not expose themselves inappropriately in public, its fine. There is one Muslim girl around the age of 23 who goes to my older sister's college. At home, she is very nice and wears modest clothing, but at college she rips it all off, wears tight clothing, and gets drunk and dances at clubs. My sisters was able to know this from her Facebook and the college yearbook. In conclusion, as long as you wear modest and respectable clothing in public, there is nothing wrong with it. Wear whatever you want!

  3. Salam dear Shakila Rahman.In line with Qur'an  see &:26,31,24:30,31 and 33:59 Allah instructed all muslim women to wear hijab to cover all parts of their bodies so it can be seen only their faces and armsThe model of its cothes just upto you which model do you like but its stuff should not transparant and its stryle not so tight You can wear pants or jeans and shirt in public but you wear also hijab.You are free to wear clothes as long as all your privies are covered.It is for your dignity and safety as a muslimah. You do not want to wear burka or salwar kameez as a culture clothes is never mind.

  4. pants are revealing of the calves...

    you don't have to dress like a pakistani, but a skirt would be nice.

  5. wear what you feel comfortable in...if you feel like you are modest and respectful to your body other ppl dont matter because Allah (swt) is the only one who can judge you.

  6. In yr religion and culture u are fair game for male Muslims if u do not wear a Burk ha and cover all body parts.

    Do u have guts to raise any objection in a mosque?

    U very well know what would happen to u.

    All those men who are supposed to lower their gaze will glee fully lower their pants.

  7. Just make sure everything except your face and hands are covered and modestly.

  8. Wear whatever you think is appropriate and approved by your parents and elders.

  9. This is a question you will have to answer for yourself....to go with the old ways...or what you believe is correct...I follow my own thought...

  10. Assalaamualaykum.  Jeans are not hijab, and neither are pants because they 1. imitate the Kaafur, and 2. are too tight in the behind, or the legs and show off your curves, making you appealing to Kaafur and non mahram men which is haraam.  So you should do your best to wear hijab, elbow length gloves, Abaya, sleeves that go over your gloves, and Niqab.  Niqab doesn't look right if you don't have gloves.  As Muslims are required to follow the Qur'an and strong Hadiths:

    1.Bukhari

    2.Muslim

    3.Abu Dawood

    4.An-Nasa'i

    5.Tirmidhi

    6.Ibn Majah

    Muslim women should strive to be like the wives of Prophet Muhammad(Salla Allahu alhai Wa Salaam).  So we should cover like crows, so we imitate the wives of Muhammad(Salla Allahu alahi Wa Salaam).  Any person who rejects the six strong Hadiths is misguided and needs to study Islam more.  The prophet(Salla Allahu alahi Wa Salaam) himself said we should follow the six strong Hadiths.

    'A'isha radi Allah anha used to say: "When (the Verse): 'They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms', was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces."(Hadith-Shahi Bukhari 6:282)

    Narrated 'A'isha radi Allahu anha who said, "The riders would pass us while we were riding with the Messenger of Allah (salla alahu alahi wa salaam).  When they got close to us, we would draw our outer cloak from our heads over our faces.  When they passed by, we would uncover our faces."(Hadith-Recorded by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and ibn Majah, Narrated 'A'isha[In his work Jilbab al-Marah al-Muslimah, al-Albani states (p.108) that it is hasan due to corroborating evidence.  Also, in a narration from Asma(who was not the wife of Rasulullah (sallahu alahi wa salaam), Asma also covered her face at all times in front of men.)

    Jamai'athul Ulema Junbi Africa state that the proper opinion for the Hanafi madhab is that "A woman must be properly and throughly covered in a loose outer cloak which totally conceals her entire body including her face!" (This is from the Islamic Hijab by Jamai'athul Ulema p.12)

    The Mufassireen, such as Al-Qurtubi, cite their Tafseer of the Ayah on Jilbab (Al-Azhab 33:59), that the Jilbab is: "a cloth which covers the entire body... Ibn 'Abbas and 'Ubaidah As-Salmanni said it is to be fully wrapped around the women's body, so that nothing appears but one eye or both eyes so which she can see." [Tafseer Al-Qurtubi].

  11. yes thats right your teacher is ignorant

    you can wear "anything"....as long as it hides your body completely....

  12. Wellll we're not suppose to imitate kaffir and apparently they wear t-shirts and jeans...so thats a no no....they also do wear dresses....so can't wear them......don't forget they do wear underwear too...hmmm

    Well thats my view on that argument.......

    Loose clothes and make sure your shirt covers your butt and you're good.

  13. you ask too many questions

    just ask your mom

  14. Shalwar kameez---->CULTURE

    Burka---->CULTURE

    Pants/shirt------>CULTURE

    What we wear is defined by the culture we live in. Dress as you feel most confident comfortable AND modest.

  15. shalwar kamez is not islamic, but its designed to conceal your figure. it's more indo-pak thing. now a days girls wear shalwar kameez but it's worst than jeans and stuff. long not so clinging skurt will do and yes hijab is compulsory.
