Stick out there tounges and drool excessively? My cousin is three and whenever I pick him up his shirt is almost completely wet from drool. He is done teething. He has to switch shirts a couple of times a day! Do you think its some sort of facial tic? His father has a facial tic but he just sort of moves his head from side to side every couple of times a minute (it has been diagnosed as a facial tic.) My aunt is getting annoyed with changing her son's shirt multiple times a day. Have you or your child experienced this drooling/tounge thing? And if so, how did you deal with it and/or stop it?

  1. sounds like a pediatrician question

  2. it sounds like an oral apraxia type thing to me.one of the main causes of drooling and tongue hanging out in a child that age is a lack of muscle control.I am going to guess that he is not talking really well either. He needs to be checked by the local school system (they will do it for free). I am guessing that he would qualify for special ed preschool and receive therapy there. My guess is that he would get speech therapy and maybe occupational therapy. You or your aunt can e-mail me for further details

  3. He could be teething. They do cut molars that are called two year molars. Maybe he is a little behind with his teething. Did he just turn three?

  4. put plastic pants on him he will stop

  5. is he teething?  is it a negative behavior that you've given alot of attention to?  discuss your concerns with the pediatrician and dentist.

  6. No, i have never seen this, in a child this age, She really should talk to his pediatrician about it....I'm suprised she hasn't already...It could be any number of things, but i dont think it is normal...some kids make extra saliva and if that is the case there should be a medical reason behind it....TALK TO HIS PEDIATRICIAN ASAP...
